  • Despite common sense I bought The Hundred Line at launch, but thankfully it is indeed a very solid game. To the point I spent 25 hours playing it over 3 days. It’s more or less a Danganronpa game, so it might be too cringy for some people, but having gained enough tolerance to those things it’s wonderful. Probably better than DR, but it’s apples and oranges in some aspects.

One “problem” is that the game is really easy, and the whole SRPG part is mostly to enchance the story. It’s still really fun, I think that like with Kirby they intentionally wanted a game that anyone can approach. And though I’m just getting started it also does indeed appear to have 100 endings, I ended up on the romance route from my first set of decisions…

  • Nobody mentioned Yakuza? Any modern game in the series? (Edit: Ok, one guy did)

A guilty pleasure of mine is Majima Construction from Yakuza Kiwami 2, which is one if the few RTS I like. It’s unbalanced, and not even functioning properly, but it’s simple fun. I associate most RTS with commanding large squads of units and resource management, and a watered down version with few specific characters and one/two resources felt like a less overwhelming entry point into the genre.

  • This is more concerning the replies here, but in this discussion, saying “Trump did X thing, so that’s why it’s the voters fault” is precisely why Trump voters exist. You just flip it and say “Biden has been supporting genocide, that’s all you need to know” and that’s a sufficient argument for Trump voters.

The issue is the amount of fuckups each side had, and while Trump is pretty clearly in the lead (I mean, he’s straight up a felon) to us chronically online people, I don’t know about normies who only watch the news that didn’t get the message through clear enough (not American, so I don’t know), or just use Twitter (which is Musk’s propaganda now, btw) or even other media that just recommend you what you want to see. They probably see constant allegations against the Democrats too.

  • The only thing mentioned are the promotional campaigns and once, vaguely, “child-care resources”. And the ratio is far more in the former’s favour, which is useless. Same for women being pro- and against the government’s actions, with there being more focus on the complaints. And they actually get quoted, so they’re more trustworthy. I actually applaud them, since the supporters might just be doing it out of fear. No statistic to back up either though, but just about anyone will assume the Chinese government is fucking up privacy rights, as usual. There ARE quotes for that in here.

  • Darkwood and Disco Elysium, as games recommended by friends. Darkwood scares the crap out of me, maybe because I’m more alert to sounds in general. Disco Elysium is very interesting, but a tad slow, and not as engaging as other games.

Most of ny playtime now is Dark Souls 3. I only played 1 and 2 before, and this is about what I expected, more, slightly better and different Dark Souls. I’ll probably replay it more than DS 2, but that depends, because I might prefer 2’s less linear progression.

Also, still grinding supports I want to see (which is a lot) in Fire Emblem Revelations on bus rides.

  • Overall great, but the movement, mainly during all the backtracking, just wasn’t fun enough to carry it. You have a dash and that’s it, the charge dash is too situational.

It might not be Metroid with Shinesparks and such, but maybe up the default walk speed at least? The rest of the game wasn’t outstanding enough to make up for it either, besides the map being very open, even for a metroidvania. I like how there are 3-4 ways to enter the area with the Dream Nail.

  • I still play my 3DS on bus trips all the time, and trying to find people IRL who recognise it. There aren’t many here.

By far my favourite console ever, if DS and GBA libraries (and ease of modding) are included. I didn’t even get through the most recommended games, let alone the obscure ones (like an Atelier-like game made by the Etrian Odyssey devs, Nora and the Time Studio I think, it was weird but interesting if somebody wants to try)

Don’t actually care for the 3D effect by now, but I’m happy it’s there, if only for showing off to people. Fire Emblem feels made for dual screens, and EO was literally so - I’m hoping they’ll manage without them. Besides that, mostly just good game library.

  • Anger can be acceptable if you consider that statement isn’t just about you. If someone rejects me because I’m not their type, that’s ok, but if you go around saying other singles are bad too, rather than admitting your standards are just high (which is fine), that’s rude, especially if you’re not one of the “good ones”. My sister uses that phrase and it does mildly anger me, because from living with her I know she’s immature (among other problems) and, to a lot of men, and especially the “good ones”, I’d assume she is seen as a bad partner herself.

That being said, I do agree that the comic here is kind of forced, I only heard this being said while gossiping, and never as a form of rejection of a specific person.

  • Had it for a few years now, still playing it, on the bus and such. Including DS games, and maybe even some of GBA library, I’m not even halfway through my backlog for it. The favourites would be all the main Etrian Odyssey games but there’s so much other good ones. Radiant Historia is budget but has some cool ideas, Fire Emblem (besides Awakening, I actually disliked it more than Birthright, didn’t play Revelation yet), all of the Shin Megami Tensei games… and I’d add Kid Icarus or Mario 3D Land so it’s not just JRPGs.
