There was also a time when people would get pay to press an elevator button for you. But we don’t do that anymore because those things are super easy and having someone doing it for you won’t make the process faster.

On the other hand, the thing that pisses me off the most about the self-checkout is that people take forever to scan their stuff. When I was working as a cashier I would have an average of 50 clients/hour. There ain’t no way those self checkout are more efficient considering the time people take.

I guess it is better to go for games that are cooperative and where everyone can contribute how they can without pressure. So I would suggest strategy games where everyone decides together what to do and all the players are united against the game, but in a way that it’s harder to put the blame on someone if they fail to do what’s expected of them (Ex : Hanabi). When you go on Ticketmaster the price shown is what you will pay. Including the taxes and whatever bullshit fees they want to add. So you know exactly what it is going to cost you. What Cineplex was doing was showing the cost of the ticket (let’s say at 15$ or whatever), but when you go checkout, now the cost is 15$+tx, PLUS the ordering online fees as well. That is what was ruled illegal.

And to had to that, soccer comes from the term Association Football (hence A.F.C. -> Association Football Club) but since it was too long, the British shortened it to Soccer and it was the prefered term going back as far as the late 19th century. Refering to it as football regained popularity in the UK during the 1960s. As for Gridiron Football, the first part of the name was dropped long ago as at the time all football sports were simply called “football” in North America (this includes Rugby).

Also, the argument of “but what about the exploited workers in the fields ?” is one of the weakest that’s always thrown around. Do they realy think that everyone working for the meat industry are all treated fairly ? All those fields of corn/soy that are used to feed the livestock, guess what, they also need workers.

Exactly, the wording is akward but the intentions are in the right place. That kind of stuff helps normalize vegan diets for most people.

I’ve had the 2× spicy. Honnestly the reason they should be recalled is for their quantity of salt. My mouth was burning more because of that than the spiciness.

Of course the root of evil is capitalism, but you have to understand that we would need to greatly reduce meat consuption to have the “ethical” way of breeding that most people expect. The reason why the animal exploitation is so bad is that it has to satisfy a demand that keeps growing. People expect to continue their eating habits and that companies should just be held accountable, change their ways and still produce the same quantities of meat/diaries/eggs.
