Ah okay, your last comment read like commiseration.

Yeah it’s a shame EVs aren’t more popular in many countries, the US included. There are pros and cons to them, but I feel like the pros outweigh the cons.

As a contemporary example of massive suffering, the wars in Palestine and Iran are directly correlated to the US wanting to defend the petrodollar and its interests in the Middle East more broadly, especially its oil. If the US can’t buy oil from the area, or if OPEC slipped on its grasp on power, our infrastructure would crumble. It’s wobbling enough as it is.

You’d think The Powers That Be of the US would realize that dependency on foreign oil is more of a national security risk than letting Gaza exist, but chances are they’re simply in bed with oil oligarchs and don’t actually care about whether or not the US implodes as long as they have the money to escape the consequences.

They think they’re untouchable, unstoppable, and inevitable. Fortunately for the rest of us, looks like due to the increased interconnectedness of the globe, America is losing power much more rapidly than great Britain did.

Yep. I object to its balkanization, which a lot here seem to vote for, but you can’t the biggest kid on the block and bully the other kids who disagree with you.

It needs to get taken down a peg or two.

Unfortunately, the next Top Dog(s) are almost certain to do the same (or similar) bullshit; the cycle continues - the US is not particularly unique.
