The magas keep betraying, it’s their thing, and even Bush said don’t get fooled so many times. I really want putin to leave and stay in existing lands, has plenty so stop killing all these people and all the suffering. Stop the dictator bs and could have had a much better economy and quality of life for people there if he did the right things, followed the Nordic models. Estonia and others have advanced with their freedom from the unhealthy controlling ways and putin could have done all that too, but no, doubled down on toxic systems and scapegoat minorities. Same horrible policies always bring horrible results for the majority, but the wealthy benefit. The wealthy and powerful protect their benefits and privileges at the expense of the many as we can see over and over in history.

Actually, the US has always supported the Ukrainian quest for independence. Don’t listen to the naysayers. They simply don’t understand the deep bound that exists between our two nations.

Using the word “betrayed” implies he trusted him in the first place, which I strongly doubt.

I think Zelensky has done a really good job overall in a really bad situation, but you don’t have to read much news to know both Trump and Musk and terrible people and not to be trusted.

Be happy it lasted this long when dealing with these two billionaire psychopaths.

Well, for what its worth - the amount of blood on Trump’s hands is nowhere near Putin’s BY A LOT. That doesn’t make it any better though. both cant go to hell soon enough.

I felt this was going to happen eventually, I just didn’t know how soon. It also follows suit with Trump working to create a new world hegemony where he sees himself acquiring Canada and Greenland and letting everything else fall to Russia and China. The only way it can even begin to be real is with a world war where the US deliberately ghosts Europe and NATO, and it has already begun to do that.

Trump’s international policy is so incoherent it is much more productive to compare it with type 2 jam instead of international politics.

You forgot Cuba and Venezuela, and likely more.

Taking some solace that while there’s a lot more than just Trump at work here, he is somehow the key figurehead that when he passes (how long can a fat 80 year old who loves fast food last, even with the best health care?) wil leave the broader movement unraveling.

It won’t unravel, it will just get more extreme from now on. This is not something you just democratically vote yourself away from. The very concept of democracy is almost no longer tenable given how techno oligarchs have perfected within their social networks what Cambridge Analytica started.

I don’t know, but I think we are headed towards the modern analogue of the sort of dark ages that have left empty capitals out of ancient civilizations that had previously been thriving, with AI and robotics being prepped to fill the voids. The value of human society is rapidly becoming less of a necessity for the ultrarich, with lies and deception are part of their core values - half truths and a tailored mix rationale and dehumanization that will sadly shape the future of our timeline by appealing to society’s baser emotions. I dread for our future and bid farewell to the sort of one that seemed possible from the world that once cooperated and averted the ozone hole from becoming a catastrophe.

These are just the necessary consequences of capitalism. Workers never had a choice in the system, we can only ever express our voice through collective action, like how the Civil Rights Movement was fought. This isn’t a new development, it’s a new stage in deterioration of the imperialist stage in capitalism. The solution is socialism, and the method to establish it is revolution. This has been clear for over a century.

Their ability to bomb* the oil depots is probably related to their starlink/starshield access. 🥺

Did you read the article? It specifically says that’s not the case and so the Starlink disruption does not affect that.

Yes, the quote you posted supports my comment. The frontlines are in Ukraine, not in Russia. The quote you posted refers to operations inside of Ukraine. If you thought that “behind the frontlines” means “in Russia”, the article clarifies below:

But, ironically, it would have no impact on Ukraine’s deep strike bombing of oil refineries because Kyiv is banned from using Starlink to hit targets inside of Russia.

FWIW, leading with that quoted sentence instead of a “Did you read the article?” would have worked out much better to correct the assumption.

In an un-fucking-believable move, the Americans stopped sharing intelligence and disabled Starlink’s military services, rendering Ukraine completely defenseless against Russian ballistic missiles just prior to a major attack.

This coming shortly after the US essentially negated its economic sanctions on Russian diesel and once again pressured Kyiv to unilaterally cease its attacks on Russian energy infrastructure, even as Russia ramps up their own attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure.

Trump is now publically aiding the Russians in their aggression against Ukraine and Europe

But other than that, everything is fine. 🤥 🤡
