have you seen the illustrated screenplay for Jodo’s Dune? It goes hard but it is nowhere near as edgy or risque as any of Ralph Bakshi movies from that era. It would’ve been way easier to pull off an animated version and given how successful Heavy Metal movie was just a couple of years later - it would’ve had quite a fighting chance at box office. Alas, it wasn’t to be - but we got one of the best comic books ever out of it so it is hard to complain.
what’s even funnier is that his character is inspired by Hal Needham - the same guy who inspired Cliff Booth in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood - who was also a top tier stuntman who later graduated into film directing and did a bunch of bombastic films with Burt Reynolds. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood sequel could easily be the making of The Cannonball Run.
Escape from New York type of movie but found footage investigative journalist sneaks into city prison is an interesting idea
there is a lot of on the surface stuff and but watching Plan 9 is also very insightful from the mechanical perspective - like how to do things right and what can go wrong at different production stages. This movie is versatile as hell
It’s a lot of fun and you can feel everybody poured their hearts into the project. It might be VERY rough all around but you have to respect Wood for pulling it off. It could’ve been WAY worse.

I actually had that experience with my dad once. Back in high school I was blasting Pornography and he told me that he likes Siouxsie and The Banshees better and by the way Robert Smith played on Hyena. Mind blown.
