Europe is actually more a collection of large islands that have temporarily decided to exist as a unified land mass because Africa and Asia are squeezing it from both sides (geologically speaking)
Geologically speaking India and surroundings are also not Asia but a separate continent running into Asia creating the Himalayas
But europe is a continent.
