It is! But how I feel about it doesn’t make it any more or less true. And likewise, I try to behave in ways to avoid the same ending, even if it means less hedonistic enjoyment and material comfort.

No offense, but what a stupid way to live your life.

Actually, I dunno why I said “no offense.”

I would say “rational people” is more accurate. Being rich and powerful is not relevant at all is it?

Most of the rich and powerful people who are currently ruining the US agree with you that hell exists, by the way.

Are we really gonna sit here and pretend that Christian nationalist don’t believe in hell? Give me a break.

The entire concept of hell exists to control people like you.

You can be a rational person and be entirely immoral and self serving. And idk what those people believe in, they’re extremely confused, the worst form of Trinitarianism is the one that denies God’s judgment and I guess that’s what they’re about? “Jesus forgave my sins so I can colonize, murder and rape with impunity”? They can say they “believe in God” in whatever way they want the same way a wife beater can rationalize it as love and passion, doesn’t mean it makes any sense.

I never said nor implied anything different

Yeah, what a rube! They have beliefs that bring them comfort and that compel them to treat others well. So stupid.

It’s weird that you’re shitty to people for their beliefs. If those beliefs bring them comfort and help them treat others well, you benefit from them. You can value true beliefs in your own life and while choosing your immediate circle, and if you really want to spread it to the wider public, you could advocate for it instead of intentionally offending people for being different from you.
