I’ve seen a few but it were never the type of people i expected. It weren’t nerds or techies or dudes with expensive cars, it was middle-aged women with presumably fake designer bags. Still haven’t figuresd out if these are the only people buying foldable phones or I am just not in an area that is representative of their typical buyers. At first I thought they were hand me downs from their husbands, but then I’d have seen at some point a man that might be said husband with one.
You need to see more people in your day to day life, then. I saw a lady on the subway that had a rectangular smart phone that folded in half to be a little square to stow in her purse.
Also, one of my friends has a fold out phablet for gaming.
The fact that I noticed and remembered both instances shows that phone makers have been doing a good job of inventing interesting and innovative hardware. The fact that there are only two instances for me to remember speaks to the fact that they have not been as successful at actually getting people to buy them.
If I had $1 for every time I’ve personally seen a folding phone in the wild, I’d still have $0.
