    videogames are part of our culture

    I don’t get what that means. Was there a threshold of french video games that needed to be met before it could be considered “part of our culture”?

      I think he means that the other way around, he’s trying to remind everyone that France does have video game companies (Ubisoft for one), not that this is a new thing.

      Yes actually, most people working in and around the French ministry of culture are extremely snobbish about any art form more recent than film.
