The problem with that is the vast majority have no idea how pervasive and oppressive surveillance capitalism truly is. If they knew that the data from their various devices and services was being aggregated by thousands of data brokers, and could be used by employers to pay them lower wages, or businesses to charge them higher prices, or insurance to deny them healthcare, or cyber criminals to scam them, most would be genuinely shocked that most of this shit is “legal”.
The other problem is that there’s no way to opt out of techno fascism. They get to stalk you and there’s nothing you can do about it. Even if you live in a faraday cage they’ll still amass data on you. It’s hard to take a moral stance when you think they’re gonna fuck you every which way regardless.
