They login gated and banned the ability to criticize reddit on r/mildlyinfuriating. Reddit cucks

Line is definitely not going up.
They’re in the final 5 years of their business model.
I can’t wait for the acquisition by private equity phase
FB will probably buy them.
Simple, reddit just want lemmy to succeed, so they gave us another shot!
I browse reddit without logging in and with an adblocker. From their perspective, I’m a parasite using resources but contributing nothing; I’m proud of that.
And I am proud of you for that! Here here!
ENSHITIFICATION
Who cares, fuck reddit, fuck Fart Huffmsn
It’s why I moved to Lemmy - that and completely borking the site while using most VPNs. F-that. If you can’t allow my VPN, I know you’re wrong, not me.
welcome - on desktop a nice lemmy client is this: https://phtn.app/
you can run selfhosted.on mobile - boost for lemmy is super nice for android.
fuck reddit
because they think they can make more money that way, and they don’t care about the users even one little bit
Im going to either get ignored, or downvoted to hell but…
Bot control.Their site is the only source the website can be read/scraped and with the influx of ai scrapers ignoring all bot rules they might want to try and kill that.
I havent seen the pop up yet, nor checked out the html dom, but i suspect they, like any website, are getting a huge influx of ai bots doing terrabytes and terrabytes of data transfers
It was the next logical step - old.reddit still allowed unauthorized clients to work. Now the garden is fully walled, and soon it shall be paved over.
Because business types eventually ruin everything.
At least they help me to beat my Reddit addiction, thanks Reddit
They literally cut away their own ad revenue from me using their website, but hey - I can live with that. I’m definitely not creating an account over there, so Lemmy it is!
Make sure to auto repost some of their subs into one of the lemmy communities to kick pigboi even more.
So they get another page view every time you have to refresh to see the content behind the pop-up.
If they wanted to force logins they’d grey out the text like newspaper websites do.
Really? Well I guess I’m really never going back now
Quit using corporate social media.
