When helping those in need is considered extreme any sane/moral/logical person I guess is considered extreme. I think there was a large hope that AI was going to be so good because the rich wanted to be able to replace as much of the working class as possible, not because they wanted people to be able to rest more or enjoy themselves… just because if the working class starves without an alternative they cant continue to hoard more wealth they cant use.

People like Larry Ellison don’t need more money, they could live extremely happily off 1/250th of what they have, yet they involve themselves in buying up media companies to ensure they won’t allow wealth to distribute any better. Moves to ensure children starve… For what?

Dude can buy a new house for $5 million dollars, sleep in it, burn it down as he walks out the door the next morning and do it all over every day for the rest of his life, and he’d die more wealthy than he is now.
