Taking notes for reference seems like a use AI is halfway decent at. Going by your surprise at its use, they aren’t using it wholesale for things it’s bad at. Seems like good judgement on the part of your developer.

More often than never, AI hallucinates and creates wrong answers, so in most cases I would trust them over AI.
