Wow. America being put in the same negative, unsavory context as Russia. Really demonstrates how soured the American reputation is in Canada - just a shade short of being declared ‘number one enemy of Canadian democracy’.

I’ve been reading about the Alberta separatist movement for quite a while now but haven’t seen an article about the plan once they separate. Does any have a link to the post separation plan or is it I’m pissed off and we’ll build the plane as we fly.
Quebec actually had a solid plan for post-separation during their referendum. They had their act together much better than the Alberta separatists. But back then, it was not an issue of America, Russia, or China interfering, it was outright flagrant and in-your-face interference by De Gaulle.
It really depends; they’ve only got enough people to make noise at the “separate from Canada” stage. After that, some of them want to be a sovereign nation and others want to join the US. Some just want to escape the existing federal government. None of these options are tenable of course.
The reality is that even when you lump all these groups together, there’s very few Albertans involved. Most of the hubris is organized south of the border.
