The message is nice, but “being nice” is straight up not a good way to achieve immortality. The people you’ve affected will remember you but one generation out and you’re forgotten. And that assumes people ruminate on the kind acts they’ve experienced a lot.
The people we remember are mostly remembered for doing grand things. Maybe that’s not a convenient truth, but it is true.
Well that’s on us. We should be better at remembering kindness. We should never forget Mr Rogers
You should be kind. The world would be a lot better a place. Unfortunately Hitler died long before I was born and will still be remembered long after I’m forgotten about completely. People who have the ability to choose between good and evil know this.
I feel that if I made a list of the top 2000 most difficult to forget people, we would find that their average niceness is below that of a typical person tbh
