What makes Captain Ibrahim Traoré the most feared African leader alive?
In this groundbreaking interview, Ahmed Kaballo, the fearless founder of African Stream, breaks down why Traoré’s impact goes far beyond Burkina Faso. He reveals the hidden agenda of Western powers, their fear of Traoré becoming a martyr, and why his life or death will ignite a movement across Africa.
This conversation goes beyond politics—it’s about the liberation of a continent, the rise of Pan-Africanism, and a new generation refusing to bow to colonial puppets.
The part with the following timestamp(17:20 to 21:08) talks about the importance of solidarity and why we should strive for it. When Traoré was slandered by Langley, protests erupted in plenty of countries around the world and that intimidated the US AFRICOM.
Also, the video touches on important aspect which is the Burkinabe grassroot security around Traoré within the timestamp 22:27 to 23:00. This also shows how solidarity influences people within the country to act and defend Traoré.
Great interview, thanks so much! I’ll have to add that channel to my regular watch list.
It also made bile rise in my throat about what USA did in Libya, and concerns me greatly for Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua, and of course for Palestine.
Hey comrade! I just learned that a lot of African Stream’s same programs are still being made on the founder’s YT.
It’s Ahmed Kaballo on YT, the link is @ahmedkaballo4170
Sadly, from what I have seen, his channel is just a mirror to the original banned African stream channel. Even though it has some of the latest content from African stream on X and Telegram, it only mirrors what African stream had so far. 😭
If it is possible for you and other comrades that want them back, don’t forget to send him a message through any medium possible to try get funding from BRICs or AES.
Some people including myself in the Telegram channels have been urging his team to get fully funded by BRICs, AES or literally any country that anti imperialist.
That’s a shame, bit it’s better than nothing. Although getting funding from BRICS or AES is a neat concept, are you aware of how feasible it is to actually acquire funding?
Would BRICS be willing to work with them? I’d imagine the AES might but they also require a lot of resources for defeating terrorism in their countries, so I’m not sure they’d want to over extend in any area?

There is a strong push to fund an alternative anti hegemonic voice from the BRICs media forum. That leads me to speculate positively regarding the feasibility of African Steam getting funded. However, similar as getting a well paid job in a good place in the Global South, they need to join the forums, use their contacts and/or reach out to any of the news networks that are in the forum.
This was BRICS’s latest media forum in Brazil comments and the level of organizations participating:
-
The event served as a pivotal gathering for over 250 delegates from media outlets, think tanks, government institutions, and enterprises representing 36 countries, including BRICS member states, partner nations and regional organizations.
As for the AES, this is tricker because most of the initiatives are very local such as this one:
Would BRICS be willing to work with them?
Honestly, we will never know unless they give this a shot. From my side, I really hope that BRICs do. I have seen Xinhua contact famous mexican pro brics youtuber and even showing them up in their channels. I am 90% sure that the mexican youtuber that I am referencing contacted them through forums as well and he was successful to the point that Xinhua help him with materials and stuff.
This is wonderful news, thank you for the info comrade!
I found another initiative from Burkina Faso!
Faced with the multidimensional crisis Burkina Faso is going through, it is important to mobilize all forces to lead the fight. An important link in this fight is the issue of information. According to Me Alidou Ouédraogo, president of the Convention of Civil Society Organizations for Domestic Election Observation (CODEL), it is important to work to make information true and accessible to all. It is with this in mind that CODEL initiated a training session on fact-checking and the fight against hate messages in Burkina Faso, this Thursday, August 7, 2025 in Ouagadougou.
The CODEL president also indicated that the task is shared. For him, as professional journalists and influencers, they are “actors at the heart of the battle” because, he said, they “play a fundamental role in the dissemination of reliable information and the promotion of constructive discourse .” He stressed that they are actors who have a considerable impact.
Also, there are also muslim societies in BF that are working with these organizations to fight the ISIS propaganda. It is beautiful to see how they are mobilizing every sector of the society.
Isnt Russia building a new media centre in Cuba?
Thank you so much for sharing this. If you can please keep posting works and interviews by/of members of Africa Stream. Especially given their ban.

Their ban?
Eta: oh. YT, m*TA, where else?
YT +/- social media
Yeah, they were hunted down everywhere. Let me quote them here:
AFRICAN STREAM IS CLOSING DOWN
This is, sadly, a farewell to you, our loyal followers and supporters. Under relentless attack, we’ve made the painful decision to shut down African Stream—a platform that many of you’ve come to trust and love. This decision was not made lightly.
The smear by then–US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on September 13, 2024, labelling African Stream “Kremlin propagandists”—triggered a wave of censorship. Within days, YouTube, Meta, Google, and TikTok removed our accounts, and we were demonetised on X. These actions shattered our ability to survive financially. Personal accounts were restricted. What followed was a daily uphill battle. Now, we’re left with only one path: closure.
We are deeply grateful for your unwavering support. Your comments, your messages, your shares—you made us stronger, sharper, and more determined.
We are deeply proud of the work we’ve done since 2022: bringing attention to the most underreported and misrepresented continent. The imperalists want to perpetuate the dominant narrative that Africa is underdeveloped due to corruption and the mismanagement of resources. They want to remove colonialism, neo-colonialism and imperialism from the picture. We refused to play by those rules. For that, we paid the price. But it’s a price we would pay again and again.
Refusing to play by their rules led to NBC saying we spread ‘disinformation’ without providing a single example of what ‘disinformation’ we shared. Voice of America condemned us for reporting a fact: since the George W. Bush administration, every US president has authorised drone strikes on Somalia. As we responded to every smear piece, we just grew bigger and stronger until, finally, those in positions of power realised the smears weren’t working, and the rest is history.
We will cease posting as of July 1, 2025, except for a few remaining documentaries from Liberia and Mali.
With your support, we managed to ruffle many feathers. Please continue the fight and keep the Pan-African flag flying. Thank you for helping us build African Stream. As we always say: #WeAreAllAfricanStream.
