The march has been marred by racism and attacks on Palestinians for years, and is preceded by a campaign of violence in the Old City that in effect shuts down Palestinian majority areas, particularly in the Muslim Quarter."

    I visited Jerusalem in 2019, not knowing about this event…got trapped in the old town when riot police cordoned off the muslim quarters. Got to experience a tiny glimpse of Palestinian reality in the West Bank, which was quite eye opening for me as a german

    You know, I really don’t want to lump all Israelis together with their racist POS counterparts. But then I see this and I can’t help but think all Israelis are like this.

    Amazing to think only a couple of generations ago, they were on the receiving end of hate like this.

      There was a piece on this awhile back, Israel was destined for a rightward lunge given a lot of their population would be those moving out of fear or actual receipt of antisemitic behaviour.
