“just a friendly reminder–if my mission time extends past 40 days, you must register me or quit using me.”
Yeah, welcome to the club, pal.
This is my first recorded case of 'it ‘s funny, but I don’t think I get it?’
The bot goes from being concerned there is nothing to study to suddenly realizing the overwhelming scope of its purpose.
Not very relatable for most people.
Perhaps change the dialog to:
-How’s research going?
-There is nothing but rocks here. Mission complete.
-You’re a rock analysis robot. You’re here to research rocks.
If you found it funny, you got it.
Poorly Drawn Lines is not very deep. It’s pretty “what you see is what you get”. It’s a silly scenario and that’s really what’s funny about it.
It’s super simple but also kind of genius. A simple twist of perspective can change the mundane into the profound.
It needs a better punchline.
Maybe the robot thought it was designed to analyze rock music. Or Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
He was on Mars for that one movie…
