That’s sweet. If the guy still sees her as his girlfriend, when drunk, the right feeling is still there. And if he get’s excited for knowing she’s his wife presently, that’s even better.

I’m sceptical of the wholesome nature of someone getting so drunk they forget they have a wife.
Skeptical that he could write without a single typo, using apostrophes and all but forgot he is married. Not how being drunk works in my experience.
Pretty sure it was a text meant for a girlfriend, sent to wife by accident.
How can you be certain, there is no hint of infidelity in the texts.

Calling his wife his girlfriend while drunk is the hint of infidelity. It inherently implies there’s a chance that he meant to text his sidepiece.
Certainty, no, but it’s absolutely a possibility.
I often refer to my wife as my girlfriend. It’s cozy and it’s kinda like a very vanilla form of roleplay. “Remember when we were younger, and just met”-kinda thing.
