All developers should be free to use GitHub, no matter where they live. At the same time, GitHub respects and abides by US law, which means government sanctions have limited our ability to provide developers

    This is a good thing! I am always against any oppression any government does in the world whether it is Iran or the USA but I want a way for people to work together independent of political issues their governments face.

    Thanks for the update, I take Microsoft PR with a modicum of caution, but this seems like a good thing for developers and software users at large.

    It’s such a bummer GH sold to MSFT—there are so many good people associated with it and this kind of propaganda from ICEman Microsoft Github CEO Nat Friedman gives me the warm fuzzies:
