Doesn’t matter at all to me, I know X means A and A means X

Played both consoles for years it’s all muscle memory now

    • The only time it has ever fucked with me was when playing Final Fantasy X on the PC. One of the characters has big attacks that require a series of button inputs with a short timer. First few times I tried, I kept failing because the buttons shown were all wrong.

Under normal circumstances, it’s fine. I’m not thinking about which button is X, I’m thinking about which button is attack. But when you only have a few seconds to look at, translate, and perfectly input an entire string, (the string resets if you fuck up,) it suddenly becomes much more important to have the right button icons. I ended up installing a mod just so I could change the button prompts.

It only screws with me when swapping between Switch and PC, since they have the same letters (and because Nintendo games always have fucking weird button layouts) 🤷‍♂️ the PS shapes are fine

    • I noticed this with an older Steam update. My PS input prompts changed to Xbox, but I’m so familiar with both that I didn’t notice for days.
