Sure would be nice if we lived in a world where having a home and other silly basic necessities like food was a minimum standard of living. That would require population control, though, and it seems like one of the fundamental problems of how to form a better society is “How do we tell people that they can’t have more children than the replacement rate, or how do we determine when/who gets to have more than the default number of children?”
It has become increasingly apparent to me that the only means by which a better society may be founded is by including only those who meet the criteria for a minimum level of acceptable intelligence or compatibility with the social structure. Too many problems appear to emerge when societies attempt to accommodate every single person, without exception.
But when you begin explaining to people they’re not intelligent enough to cooperate or work together with others, and they embody only brutish and violent animal behaviors, well, I guess they tend to get really upset about that.
Civilization arrests evolution. It sends young, health boys to die in wars while the those unfit for service stay home and service all the women. So, no, evolution doesn’t.
How do we tell people that they can’t have more children than the replacement rate, or how do we determine when/who gets to have more than the default number of children?
Or instead of your weird eugenics fetish governments can just do their job and create an environment in which people can create/find jobs to earn money to provide for their needs themselves.
Yeah, I figured someone would misinterpret what is meant by “population control.” Population control isn’t necessarily eugenics, silly. It’s merely the logical premise that a human population cannot continually reproduce at a rate higher than the replacement rate, unless you want to explain to me how you plan to fit infinite humans onto the non-infinite surface of Earth.
Honestly the reason why we get so many children is because there’s poor sexual education and free contraceptives, plus abortion not being legal and also massive propaganda since centuries ago by the church to make people reproduce like rabbits.

Doesn’t evolution already take care of these concerns, without needing any government?

You can apologize now.
That is literally the definition of eugenics and obviously there won’t be an infinite number of humans you fool.
