First, knowing that you have a mind that may take shortcuts that others aren’t used to taking is helpful. Whenever you explain something to someone else, it is useful to explicit the reason you take these shortcuts.

For instance, if while talking about subject A, your mind makes a link to subject B and them to C, you have to talk about B before talking about C, even if to you B is evident and there’s no point in talking about it.

The attacks on Lemmy have to do with poorly optimized SQL requests; these are requests that shouldn’t take long to execute, but do due to some oversight. By spamming these requests, the attackers can bring Lemmy on it’s knees.
