Modern mineral wool is actually way better than that. I recently bought and installed some that was advertised as “really soft” and without gloves or masks, at the end of the day I couldn’t feel an itch. Of course good airflow during installation always makes a huge difference. I would 100% wear a mask in an attic though.

I have no issues with facists fucking off. The problem is most people on lemmy seem to give just about everyone they disagree with a facist tag. Honestly in the US I agree the situation is different, but here in canada, I haven’t heard of anyone dying or being abducted by conservatives.
That’s the problem. You see the other side in a way they themselves really aren’t. When people say the left is just as bad as the right, they don’t mean in opinions and policies, but in behavior, just like you’re doing. They both think themselves as having the moral high ground while the other side is complete and utter evil.
Honestly of all the conservatives I know, I don’t think a single one of them is remotely racist in any way. One in particular is agaisnt talking about lgbt stuff in schools but he also has a trans friend and thinks as long as they’re adults it’s fine. It’s not being evil, it’s having a difference in opinion.
It’s not about tolerance imo, it’s about discussion. You’d be surprised to learn their reasoning if you actually listened to it. You don’t have to agree with it.
Both sides have this problem right now. Both only converse with their own. Why are republicans not changing? Well if their friends, family and everyone they talk to is a republican, they’ll never be exposed to different opinions.
Don’t forget that both sides can have valid policies depending on how you view the world. I’m not taking about trump and whatever you people are doing out there in the US, but in general, conservatism is the idea that people will manage their money, rather than the government.
Look at Quebec for example. A very socialist government. 2 years ago they invested a ton of money into one electric bus company. Well that company failed really bad and while they aren’t completely bankrupt, they aren’t far. It’s easy then to then see why conservatives would want to vote conservative. If their money had stayed in their pocket instead of going to the government, this wouldn’t have happened.
Same thing with health. The public health system is currently clogged up so a lot of people end up having to pay to go to the private sector to actually get cured in time. So conservatives believe this whole system is a huge waste of taxpayer money. Most conservatives I know aren’t agaisnt the government helping with that, but they’d rather the government just pay the invoice after you went to a private clinic, similar to insurance in the states, rather than try to control a system that clearly isn’t working.
Isn’t it a known fact that vegetable fats like canola oil are way healthier than animal fats? I’m not sure how they make margarine to be honest, but I’ve always heard from multiple reputable sources that cooking with canola oil was way healthier than butter.
I’m not an expert, but I’ve heard from experts that in a modern world where everyone consumes an abundance of sugar, eating the fibers help with absorbing the fruit’s sugars in a healthier way.
And let’s be honest, just look at america, just about everyone could afford to cut sugar and get more fibers. And fruits are by far the best source of fiber. The way I see it, I paid for the skin so I’m gonna eat the skin.

I don’t know about windows, but on linux if you don’t need and of VLC’s advanced features, MPV is significantly faster, takes nearly half the cpu on my setup for the same quality.

There are plenty of places where not having a car isn’t even a possibility. If I didn’t have a car, not only would I be unable to work, I’d probably also starve to death, or perhaps have to eat gas station food the rest of my life.
Right but most people have no clue, they’ll go to their local store which I guarantee you doesn’t have Linux computers. Online buyers will go on amazon and buy from “known and reputable” brands like Asus, Dell and such. Don’t get me wrong, I love linux and have been using it as my main OS for nearly a decade but to say it’s easy to get/install for your average user is just wrong. Everyone always overestimates what the average user is actually like. Your average user doesn’t even know what an OS or Linux even is.
The issue is that you have to install it. Most users don’t have a clue how to install windows either, but it came with their PC.

I partly agree. It’s okay to make fun of just about anyhing as long as it’s not biased(repetitive jokes always agaisnt the same people/group). It feels like nowadays people will be offended by everything. You can make fun of, say, gays, without being agaisnt them. Look at South Park, they’ve made fun of literally every possible group but it feels like so many of these episodes wouldn’t be received well id they came out today.

This is a bit of an extreme view. Most conservatives do have empathy, though they will prioritize their closed ones with it.
The problem with this specific scenario with the tarrifs is just people being misinformed and buying everything the party tells them, but I wouldn’t blame it on lack of empathy. If they’d actually known what the repercussions would be, I don’t think most of them would have voted for trump.
