  • Edit: I’m mixing up a at will employment with right to work. Sorry for the confusion. See updated comment below:

Right to work: Joining a union and paying union dues can no longer be a requirement of employment. This slowly degrades the power of the union and ultimately reduces wages and benefits of the workers

Right to work At will employment is: A right to be fired at any point for any reason or no reason at all

The goal is to get around any union protections that require things like a legitimate reason to be fired from a job.

It also has the added bonus of drastically reducing the benefits of unions and making them much easier to prevent.

  • Visual studio and visual studio code are not the same thing. Visual Studio is a full IDE and is expected to have those features and is clunky because of them. Or was, not sure where it is now. It’d be in the same category as netbeans, eclipsed, and intellij

Vs code is an enhanced lightweight text editor

Notepad++ is the original enhanced lightweight text editor

My point was that Notepad++ came out way before vs code and didn’t copy features from vs code.

Copied from an ide, sure? Not really a good comparison as they are solving two different problems

  • Part of the reason is what the consequences are.

Being perceived as gay in public? You get beat. Want to marry your partner? Too bad. Want to be able to advocate for your partner when they’re in the hospital? You’re now trespassing cause your not family. Happen to be watching nieces/nephews? Congrats , you’re now a pedo. The list of atrocities goes on.

This has gotten better over the years due to the protests and pride events

Chronic illnesses are generally met with sympathy. I’ve yet to hear of anyone being beat for their illness except for certain cases of tuberculosis and aids.

Not to say this group should be ignored. It just gets lost relative to everything else. Everyone deserves healthcare and it ends up being drowned out by that I think.
