Out of pure curiosity, since both countries are conscripting soldiers: what would you expect Ukraine to do? Lay down and take it? Lose their country? What do you think your country would do if it were invaded by another country? Would your country fight back or would it lay down and take it?
If the majority of my country wanted the war to end through negotiation and only 24% wanted to keep fighting, I would be fucking pissed if my country started kidnapping people off the street to die on the front line.
Russia has shown it is not willing to negotiate in good faith, every “negotiation” has been for them to keep everything they wanted, stolen from the other country. Would you surrender to an invading country even if you knew it would end poorly? Your link right there just says that they want it to end. Of course they do. That is not what would happen if they give up fighting. They have tried the “agreement” thing before and it hasn’t worked at any point. It’s like you didn’t read what I said. Your link does not say that the people of Ukraine are willing to surrender. You are reading into it what you, apparently, want to. Citizens in ever war want negotiations to win out. That’s hugely different from voting to surrender.
No one wants to keep fighting except those controlling it. Really this comes down to Putin continuing to fight, though. He’s the one person that can put a stop to everything, right now.
