I’d be kinda amused if Germany did the thing to kick off a third world war in response to these Russian attacks. Horrified too because of what happens next but starting another one would keep that part of their reputation intact. They’d also get to win this one for a change.
Its not exactly guaranteed that it would go nuclear. Would have to be careful, but Russia isn’t going to be invaded, Moscow isn’t at risk of occupation.

Third world war has already been active for half a decade.
I think so too but am still waiting for the history books to make it official. It’d be impossible to deny if NATO got Article 5-ed into things though.
