Text- respond whenever
Call- attention now
It’s a call to responsibility, and I hate those
What do you fear?
That you’re not up to the task?
That you’ll dissapoint your peers?
Pick up that phone and face your fears
For you will never miss
the paths you failed on
but the ones you never dared to tread.
I’ve basically ceased listening to music, so if this is a song, it’s fallen out of memory.
But anyway, It’s not fear, it’s exasperation at my limited daily free time being sectioned by someone else. The comic doesn’t reflect my personal feelings. (Pretty poem or lyrics)
Oh, it was impromtu poesy lol
In what world do you live that time sensitivity is never a thing? Also it’s just a helluva lot easier sometimes to talk for one minute instead of write for 10 and still get the wrong tone.
Never a thing? It seems like you’re conflating what I have to do with what I want to do. I want freedom to answer at the time of my choosing. Doesn’t mean I’ll always get it, but that’s what I prefer
Well the way you expressed your preference sounds like you don’t accept time sensitivity as a valid thing.
I’ll write with all the nuance of Michael meyers in an orphanage, if I think it’s a little funi
If you take 10 minutes to write, there is something wrong ig also, calls never last only 1 minute

Lotta pretending not to get the point to justify a phobia, but you do you.
Or that your point was fucking stupid and they were rightfully discounting it.
A third party voter AND afraid of answering the phone?! You must be exceedingly popular.
And establishment sheep and an ableist twat? You must be even more popular.
No one believes your ideals are real. You are a fraud.
God I hate text messaging. Instead of pissing away half a day or more sending text messages back and forth, call me and I will solve the problem you texted me about in less than a 1 minute. 5 minutes if you require a technical explanation.
Fookin’ waste of my time and day.
We never knew who might be calling. Now the phones tell you who is calling before you answer and still some people are freaked out. I don’t get it, but I think I’m becoming that way myself.
I got a call today from Ireland
I immediately knew that it was a scam, especially when the guy on the other end was speaking Chinese
I just repeatedly burped into the phone until he got pissed off enough to hang up on me
That’s hilarious
I like the phone. I was born in the wrong time. I miss hanging out in the kitchen, twirling the curly phone cord, just chattin’.
Come on, y’all, buck up. The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear!
I got a buddy who texts me “Give me a call when you get a chance”
Always allows me to finish up my work and call them when the time suits me.
Meanwhile, coworkers just call me a minute before I’m supposed to go into a meeting and expect to have my attention for a half hour. It’s on the calendar you dipshit.
Indeed, but only with a rotary dial.
Hell yeah.
People afraid to talk over the phone, but also complaining about being lonely. Time to step up the social game or become grass-eaters.
Presumably, if they call, you’re in some sort of personal relationship with the person, so whether or not you answer says something about how much you value that relationship. No? You trust that they only call if it’s something important.
I only refuse calls from unknown numbers, never from someone in my contacts.
I’ve slowly gone from being in this meme to being the person that starts calling especially for things that are even a little time sensitive or spontaneous. I will generally only do it with my closest friends except for the rare occasion, and family and no longer feel that way if they call me back. If they don’t pick up I of course don’t take it personally and respect my friends that have said they just prefer texting, but I’ve found since making this change I feel closer to people and have looked forward to chatting with them and hearing their voice.
lol pathetic
Hello, I realize you’re joking, but have you considered I am very serious?
Fuck cell phones and cell towers, unironically. Fundamentally incompatible with both software freedom and privacy.
How do you feel about voice notes?
If it isn’t my mother, wife, daughter or place of business I already have the number for in my contact list it goes to voicemail and is never listened to, period.
Everyone else of note already knows to send me a message on whatever app we already regularly talk on.
This has burned me a few times, so I at least now listen to my voicemails or peep the transcript. For example someone calling me that I know, from someone else’s phone during a tense moment and me not listening to the voicemail and not getting their text because it goes to spam.
In fact, don’t do either.
I call people as much as possible. Texting takes too long. And I NEVER open my email. Email is fake and gay
