The only thing I might disagree with is this being a consequence of Carney. Carney is a big part of it, but this move to the right is not just a Carney thing, or even just a Liberal Party thing. There are also Conservatives who feel betrayed by their party for moving too far to the right. It’s a substantial move to the right across over 90% of our elected representatives. The shift is bigger and worse than just being a Carney thing.
Its also not only a Canada thing.
The wingnuttiest of the right wing is increasingly inserting themselves into the political sphere globally, dragging the Overton window to the right as they do it.
I hope there will be a rebound towards the left (as has historically tended to happen) before they are able to do too much damage.
There are also Conservatives who feel betrayed by their party for moving too far to the right.
Can confirm, voted Conservative but wished they stop trying to segregate the population.
If you support LGBT folk then that’s your life, if you own guns and target shoot then that’s your life, if you believe in xyz religion then that’s your life.
Let everyone live life how they want to, freely, quit trying to butt in.
