Sad to see Reddit-style automods creeping in. I got so sick of jumping through their arbitrary rules on that God-awful platform. Lemmy had been a breath of fresh air for the year or so I’ve been here. However, nothing lasts, it seems.

If you want engagement, then get the bots to chill, or maybe just don’t use them.

    It’s on an instance/community basis dude, and everything is community hosted and not centralized.

    Sometimes, it’s better to find another comm that suits the atmosphere you prefer. If an accidental automod flagged you, appeal it, since it’s a human on the other end of review and not a corpo employee. People get overwhelmed, so they need a bot janitor to sometimes clean up messes.
