Hello, i was wondering if there are any good indie games on steam to try out. Can be free or paid, i don’t mind if there’s no native linux build either (i play stuff with wine/proton anyways lol) and i don’t mind the genre. I’ve been thinking of trying something new as of recent so i thought i might ask it here.
Thanks!
Play Celeste if you haven’t already.
If you have your life affairs in order, you could try Factorio. Your friends and loved ones won’t see you for months.
Months is an understatement. Just remember to eat, drink water, and sleep now and then. It helps to keep a window nearby so you can track when it’s day/night as well.
Months is just trying to optimize your first run. Then, you discover mods.
Braid and Witness.
Probably two of my most favourite puzzles, by the same developerHere are some:
- Hollow Knight 1 & 2
- Celeste
- Core Keeper
- Babbdi
- Valheim
Balatro
Bomb Rush Cyberfunk
goat simulator, goat simulator 3 (great for couch co-op),
at dead of night
Pools (liminal space walking sim),
crow country,
easy delivery co,
parking garage rally circuit
Going Under got me through the pandemic. It is still my favorite game.
If you ever want a solid local multiplayer, I would recommend Boomerang Fu.
Me and my wife (not much of a gamer) have been playing All Hands on Deck and she loves it. Shared screen co-op puzzle platformer. Wholesome family fun!
Exceptional free indie games on Steam. Sheepy has a great atmosphere. Unless is an excellent 2D platformer. Halloween Capybaras has great atmosphere and visual effects.
- A Short Hike
- A Hat in Time
- New Super Lucky’s Tale
- Webbed
- Yoku’s Island Express
- Mika and The Witch’s Mountain
These are what came to mind, as good ones, that I remember. I guess I’ll stop now. I’m sure if I went through my Steam reviews, I would find numerous more great indie titles as well.
