This is going to work even more poorly than Target’s Canadian adventure did. Canadian consumers are not as gullible and stupid as American companies hope, and now they’re also very angry.
What Target launched up here was a hot mess that doesn’t resemble a US Target at all.
Also Canadians expected the same goods sold at US Targets at the same prices which was never going to happen. Most of those items aren’t sold in Canada period - Target couldn’t magically get Neutrogena to sell all the same items they do in the US just as they couldn’t get Chobani to magically be able to sell yogurt here. Target ended up being a shittily supplied version of Walmart with bare shelves and the same products you can get anywhere else in Canada at bad prices.
Dunkin will be no different but given how people here like their garbage Timmy « coffee » and eating at Chuck’s Roadhouse who knows.
How can a business not read the room, so bad that it is going to cost them millions of dollars? I hope one comes to Saskatoon so I can purposely boycott it!

Outside of Boston, they aren’t very good. Stale donuts that taste like they’ve been thawed from frozen, and overly sugary coffee drinks.
Tim Hortons has leveraged Canadiana to sell the same bullshit, I’m sure Dunkin can find some levers to pull since Canadians seem to have absolutely no respect for themselves.

About five years ago when I last visited New York I happened across a Dunkin’ while I was walking around exploring. I didn’t expect a life-changing experience, but I was mildly stoked to finally check out their selection and find out how it stacked up against local offerings.
It didn’t. Hands down the worst garbage donut I’ve ever had in my life. Coffee was no better. These guys are going to fold faster than Krispy Kreme did the first time they tried to compete (admittedly they seem to be doing much better since returning for a second shot).
Krispy kreme in bc had a line down the block for months after it opened.
But for dunken, Canadians are used to shit donuts, we have Tim’s everywhere

DD sucks so much on consistency that their product offerings actually don’t matter
At this point DD’s product is sugar. The last time I got a doughnut from DD it was fucking stale. All of the drinks they sell are full of fucking sugar. The DD food is wildly overpriced. A (stale) bagel with cream cheese was a bit over $5 at DD, while the bakery down the block has fresh product and charges $3.50 for a bagel with cream cheese.
I was in the US back in 2019 for work. The double double I ordered from DD made Tims coffee taste like heaven.
The timmies coffee over here already tastes and smells like burnt butt glands, I’m afraid to ask how much worse can it really be?

I’ve hated Tims coffee since about 20 years ago. Still dumb enough to try it every now and again. My experience with DD tasted like burnt water coloured brown… even with the sugar added.
I would still be loyal to Tim Hortons if they weren’t American-owned. So my loyalty to the once Canadian firm is gone. Bring on another Yanky Donuts shop.
This is special. I’m happy to see that new restaurant open in our country. How lucky we are.
