minus-squareneon_nova@lemmy.dbzer0.comlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up32arrow-down1·1 month agoI would totally buy a ps5 if I could just use it as a steam machine. The steamdeck is my most powerful system at the moment and i’m getting a stiff neck playing in handheld mode these days anyway. So if im going to be plugged in, I might as well. My other option is to get a gpu and use my home server that has an i7-8700. That’s honestly, probably the way to go.
minus-squarewellbudyweek@lemmy.mllinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up12·1 month agoHave you looked at a dockingstation and a controller? You can connect the steamdeck to your TV!
minus-squareneon_nova@lemmy.dbzer0.comlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1·1 month agoI actually have that. I want something with a bit more power.
minus-squareDefault Username@lemmy.dbzer0.comlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up9·1 month agoYou can already buy motherboards with the PS5’s APU already installed onto it. Makes for a good budget gaming rig.
minus-squarelauha@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up3·1 month agoCan you clarify? I found talk about it online but where can I actually buy it?
minus-squarehushable@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up7·1 month agoAsRock BC250. You can get them mostly on eBay, but theprice has gone up over the past months
minus-squareCaptainBasculin@lemmy.dbzer0.comlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up3·1 month agoMostly available im 2nd hand markets like ebay, the model name is BC-250 so you need to look up where it’s sold.
minus-squareneon_nova@lemmy.dbzer0.comlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1·1 month agoOh? I’ll have to check if they are available in the country where I live. They were not when I checked a few months ago.
minus-squarenelson@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up5·1 month agoI bought the steam deck docking station and plugged that into my tv. I’m using a generic bluetooth controller to game from the couch. That works fine. I’ve even used it in that setup to stream a game from my PC through the steam link or whatever that was called again. That’s a cheaper option, unless you’re missing compute power or support on the steam deck.
minus-squareneon_nova@lemmy.dbzer0.comlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up2·1 month agoOh, yeah. I mean I want more computing power. I have a hub for my laptop which works great for the steamdeck.
