    Not part of the beta testings, but I just had this happen this morning. Only thing that worked (for now) was to fully uninstall and reinstall.

      v1.0.417 is live and the changelog mentions potentially fixing this so people can try updating first since you do lose some stuff when reinstalling if you don’t have a recent export of the settings.

        Ah fuck I reinstalled before the update was available to me. -_-

        The issue is fixed. Guess I’ll just fix the settings lol

          I’ve gotten in the habit of regularly exporting my settings in case there’s a problem. That way if I need to test resetting the app, I can do so without losing stuff. In Settings, tap on the three dots in the top right and then on Export Settings.

      I reinstalled before I was prompted to update lol. The issue is resolved tho. Thank you so much for your work on this! Love this app!

      I also had to completely reinstall to get it to work. Same error, sorry I don’t have any other info to share

      I’m still on 416 on a pixel 8, but I don’t have any update available? Just trying to avoid messing with the data cache or reinstalls if possible, but if that’s my best option, it’s nbd. Really appreciate your hard work in making this app and keeping it running!

    Got the same.

    Then it was fixed this morning. Tried opening the first image post, save image, FREEEEZEEEE. Some things never change.

    Please Connect devs, can you look into this? Again, I’ve used multiple reddit/lemmy apps over the years, none of them ever had the issue that it freezes the app to the point where android OS is saying its no longer responding and I can kill or wait some more. Connect has had this on 4 different devices now. It always starts out fine, new and clean install, all works fine, then about a month in or something, trying to save an image just freezes the app completely. Once it starts with the freeze-on-save, it keeps doing it until (I guess) I reinstall from scratch. Sometimes, sometimes, an update comes out and all of the sudden its fixed. Then a few weeks of image saving later, freeeeeeeeeeeeeeze again.

    Currently the only way I can save images is to share > url > firefox > save it there

    If it helps, I save a lot of funny memes locally, so I save some ~10 images per day or so
