Most obviously, colliding with other vehicles would make bus passengers experience far worse. There would be enourmous public backlash against the government regularly destroying private property like Mad Max. Busses aren’t designed to flip cars out of the way, and would suffer undue wear and tear, costing the city money. No space for a bike rack up front. Eventually a bus would flip a car out of the way onto the sidewalk, and it would roll over onto a pedestrian and kill them.
