I enjoy ridiculing dipshits as much as the next guy, but this has basically nothing to do with urbanism because VIP motorcades – regardless of how excessive their length might be – occur infrequently enough to be negligible. The next time I see similar stuff posted it’ll be removed as off-topic.
Alysa Liu, star US figure skater, would say this motorcade’s impact was more than negligible.
Guy doesn’t want to become a WWIII tripwire until he’s extracted at least one or two more pope souls.
Okay, I know the Irish Star is a tabloid rag, but even I expect a little more from them than this:
Headline: “JD Vance ridiculed for 40-car motorcade taking him down tiny Italian street”
Subheadline: “The tiny streets of Milan witnessed an unusual parade: JD Vance’s 100-car motorcade, a scene that left social media in disbelief.”
Do better, Irish Star, what little that means for you. Or make it a 500-car motorcade next; “sky’s the limit when you don’t give a shit.”
I completely agree with the judgment that this is stupid on many levels. The article didn’t discuss cost, but that’s what I want to know. This is an embarrassment and a waste of tax dollars. How many lifetimes of middle class income did it cost to transport an obscene amount of extra guests to what should be a business expense?
Why not just have one or two coach buses? Would probably care the same amount of people.
