So disaster it is
Western nations are far too focused on quarterly economic growth - ironically, growth that is increasingly decoupled from any standard of living measures domestically - than they are with the long term ecological sustainability.
This is double-edged, as its accelerating our development and deployment of green fuel alternatives and battery technologies. But it is also accelerating our consumption of existing fossil fuel reserves and our production of waste product across nearly every conceivable economic sector.
Even setting aside the looming climate catastrophe, we’ve got a problem of trash production that we seem content to resolve by shuttling off mountains of refuse to impoverished island nations and Pacific garbage patches. The need to dig shit up and turn it into disposable crap so we can collect a vig on labor and repeat the process exceeds any sane plan of what we’d do with our monumental excess.
Nothing will ever be done and and this point, I do not give a shit.
Choke on smog and drink acid water. Stupid Rich Cunts.
‘It will never be forgiven’: UN climate chief warns world to act
orand face disaster. The disaster is definitely going to be the thing that happens, because we have failed to act sufficiently for 50 years. There is no interest in most countries to do what is necessary at this point. Disaster is coming and sooner because climate change is accelerating every year.
western nations are doing their part, india, indonesia etc need to do better
“Coal should not be considered an illicit commodity,” Energy Minister Bahlil Lahadalia told a press conference. “It’s OK to use if we need.” Some new coal power plants are still expected to enter commercial operation as late as 2033.
