I’m writing a story about a masked vigilante. This woman is a 21-year-old stripper who’s dating a 31-year-old man. She eventually gets powers through an accident, and her boyfriend is murdered. She was originally going to kill the killer but decided to let the police arrest him after she beat him up.

Despite him being 10 years older than her, the theme of the story is justice and how she decides to become a vigilante and protect innocent people like her boyfriend.

Does the theme of “justice” and “protecting the innocent” work if he’s 10 years older than her?

    Sure but if he’s her age then she wouldn’t want to become a superhero to avenge him. If her boyfriend is 22 years and hes murderd yeah thats sucks but its not a big deal from her perspective.

        The story is about an adult relationship that turns tragic. The story only works if she’s an adult (i.e., 21+). It’s about an adult relationship with a boyfriend (or girlfriend) with their own personal baggage, and the relationship ends tragically.

        If her boyfriend is the same age as her, then I could easily just make her 14-16 or something.

          They can both be adults and be close in age. They can both be 28. They can both be 34. They can be any age you want. You decided they must be 10 years apart in age even though you have a weird hangup about age gaps and feel a need to keep asking the internet if it’s okay or not
