I’m a regular kayaker. This makes zero sense. The Ohio is huuuuge. There’s nothing to be gained by raising a river so large in a kayak other than the flex of doing it.

We’re not talking about some of the shallower rivers with rapids that you might bottom out on in sections during dry spells. This is a deep, wide river.

Trump is way out of his depth. I fear for him dying though because of Vance waiting in the wings.

Trump is a “once in a generation” level of grifter, much like Putin, Orban or Berlusconi in their respective countries. They somehow resonate with their population deeply, and they exploit this to grab and keep power.

Vance is just a run-of-the-mill second line fascist backed by some rich dudes, plenty to go around in every country. They (luckily) lack the charisma to pull votes in the necessary orders of magnitude to win an election.

I doubt most MAGA fans would follow Vance, the GOP would definitely start infighting after Trump’s death.

That can’t have been cheap. Or good for the lake, otherwise surely it would always be like that?

Hate to disagree with you, but openning and shutting some locks and/or spillways isn’t all that difficult, and you would be amazed how often lakes and rivers swell and go down, just from a major rainstorm or two nearby or upriver. The wildlife, for the most part, doesn’t care.
