I’m including anything only available on other Nintendo systems as exclusive for this.
I’ve got a $50 eShop card I figure I should spend before gold points go away.
I have BotW. It was alright, but it didn’t excite me enough to get TotK unless it’s on a deep discount.
I’ve also already got Mario Odyssey and Metroid Prime Remastered. I have a handful of other games but they’re not Switch exclusive afaik.
I’m mostly using my Steam deck for handheld these days, so I’d rather not get anything non-exclusive on the Switch right now.
I’d say Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom, but seems like that’s not what you’re looking for.
The Paper Mario: TTYD remake is very good. Or Animal Crossing, if you’re looking for something relaxing.
For party games, Mario Kart 8 is always fun. And of course Smash Bros Ultimate if you like that series.
Mario Party Jamboree also pretty cool for party game
I agree with these recommendations. All terrific choices!
Mario vs Rabbids surprised me with how good it was. Mario Kart 8 with the expansion pass is great, especially if you have friends to play with.
Specifically Mario Rabbids Kingdom Battle. The sequel was a massive disappointment.
Never played the sequel but that is unfortunate to hear they dropped the ball after the first one
I don’t know how popular it was overall but I really enjoyed Super Mario Wonder!
I highly recommend the xenoblade series. 1,2, and 3 are on switch with a remake of X coming in a few months. All nintendo exclusive games well worth their cost (if you have time for a jrpg)
Coming out on March 20, actually. Already pre-loaded the game!
Oooh, sweet. I knew it was soon, but couldn’t remember.
HOLY SHIT THEY ARE FINALLY REMAKING X???
Huge fan but I didn’t want to buy a Wii U for one game
Pikmin,
A puzzle store game with cute creatures,
One of my favorites series of all time, I think Nintendo bundles them and sells them as a pack now
Metroid forever, did you try Metroid Dread already?
No, but it looks like there’s a demo I can try.
Highly recommended
I’m still waiting for Prime 4
Xenoblade games
Do you like turn-based RPGs? I loved Fire Emblem - Three Houses and Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp.
Golf Story is always a good time. It was one of those games I bought on a whim and fell in love with. Top down golf based RPG with a lot of humor and good pixel art. Have Yuzu on my Deck mainly to go back to Golf Story every once in a while.
They made a sequel called Sports Story that wasn’t nearly as fun.
My favorite indie game on switch is definitely golf story. It’s a gold based RPG with a very silly story, and fun 2-d golf games
The 99 series is fantastic. I loved everyone of them from Tetris 99 to F-Zero 99.
Mario Maker 2.
The only game that can absorb time (almost) endlessly if you’re willing. Also if you like platformers.
Smash Bros Ult - I probably have played over 2k hours playing online and tournaments.
mario party superstars and the open world zelda games
