I am not in love with this artstyle but if the gameplay is as crisp as one should expect from Evil Empire I will probably give this a chance.
Gameplay wise it reminds me of Guacamelee but with uninspired and uglier art style.
Preferences are wild. I think the art looks gorgeous and the animation looks incredibly fluid. The art style doesn’t seem uninspired at all too me.
You are right, they are very personal. It’s like in Bloodstained Ritual of the Nigh where, while the game itself is great but I can’t stand the art style. However many people seem to love it.
Oh I felt the same way about Bloodstained. I had no Castlevamia nostalgia and it just looked… dated.
I really like the art style and animations. I like the soft-touched looks to things and the unique characters.
