Just like sodium and chlorine, the combination of the two is a lot milder than either half.
Instructions unclear.
I just dumped all of my NaOH into my HCl and the flask is getting really hot.

Remembering my chemistry professor telling us about how he went half deaf. As a young TA he had access to a brick of sodium and thought it would be a good idea to throw it into his parents pool
