I’ve been considering self hosting my own searxng, curious how much space do you find it taking up?

Isn’t that what they announced when deciding future titles won’t be on discs? I thought that was them plainly telling us, “we will be harassing the consumers of our products going forward”.
This is just the follow up where they’re saying “we won’t let you harass us back, because we are a big scary powerful corporation, and you are just a weak small individual.”

I use it regularly and enjoy it, especially in the food, comedy, gaming, and programming communities. If you give it a go I highly recommend trying the “For You” feed. You pin it to your list of feeds, and it produces such shockingly relevant content. It definitely has a mixture of folks on it though, despite that people claim it’s one group on one platform and another group on Bsky.
I actually find the mixture of takes to not be all that different from Lemmy, just less pro-Chinese posts, and maybe even more anti-AI stances than I’ve seen around here.
If you want to hide from politics though, “For You” can definitely be a bit of a bubble. Being a left or right swipe away from escaping your bubble is a nice compromise imo.

Reddit is so bad that I’ve been working on my own alternative. Lemmy is great, don’t get me wrong but I have my gripes with all of them, so why not build something for me, ya know.
I’m using At Protocol as the basis for it, and trying some new things out that I haven’t seen before.

I guess because they are more mainstream, people are more aware of Steam and Epic than GOG.
Totally, I was just hoping for a shoutout. If they are pro DRM-free games, they are in an obvious position to promote the store that is… DRM-free

I wonder if they plan to incorporate a moonlight server (or any form of streaming), so you could test a game without having to download it, so long as the admin host has it installed.
I know other tools out there do that already, but it would be nice if it was all in one. I’m also surprised they compare themselves to Steam/Epic when DRM-free is GoGs whole thing

If Trump just happened to find one of these ticks embedded in him, I wouldn’t be upset about it. I might even have a BBQ and invite him
Every job I’ve had has used either GitHub Enterprise or Gitlab self hosted.
I am considering self hosting both Forgejo and Tangled, and keeping them in sync. Seems a 4GB raspberry pi should be just fine with a good size SD card. Maybe I will document the process when I’m done.

Your take of “give people a break, we all want to get home safely” and in contrast of a few comments up, “crossing three lanes to make a left turn”, are taking me for a ride.
I don’t think everyone wants to get home safely honestly. Some of us are having bad days, overtired, on drugs, raging, and who knows what, all while driving next to the mom with four kids in the backseat who hasn’t slept in a week.
If someone could help me figure out how to get my monitor res to be remembered when waking from sleep in Wayland, that’d be a dream.
My theory is that it forgets the EDID, since every time I restart the monitor and trigger a negotiation it fixes the resolution from 640x480 to native.

I would use this for streaming games from a wired PC to a device that’s wireless. Not having to run a wire is magical.

I’ve never had to use windows at work except for some extremely rare moments, such as debugging a customer issue.
Always had a choice between Linux and macOS, and even if it was a requirement, I’d just become the change I wanted to see, show them all the money they could be saving and improve security demonstrably.
I bought my wife pregnancy clothing, and found out I’m having a girl!

I’m glad you mentioned knowing how to fix them. My server has hosted Nvidia GPUs for 15 odd years now, working great, and has remained stable through updates by some miracle.
Getting it set up was a nightmare back then though, do not recommend for the faint of heart.
Last year I drove to Maine and stopped at a lobster warehouse. They gave me 6 massive lobsters for $80, and were genuinely nice.
I had lobster rolls for days.

Honestly we should just start a list we maintain, and then ask Sonarr/Radarr to offer a feature to pull from a URL of our choosing periodically. That way we can curate the blocklists as a collective rather than this manual bullshit.

If you enjoy bat, may I also recommend you try:
I’ve been using these for probably around 5-10 years / daily, without issue.
He is getting paid. Not only has the Motion Picture Association contributed to political campaigns but it very recently gave awards and money to two politicians that promote their interests

In 2025, the MPA gave Chris Coons its Industry Champion Award and also honored Darrell Issa. MPA CEO Charles Rivkin described Coons as a “trusted partner” and praised Issa as a “true partner” on matters important to film and television.
It’s very basic corruption in broad daylight, and it’s pretty common in US politics today. As far as I know, you can’t prove corruption in court without some form of wiretapping or paper trail, which is trivial for them to avoid. So they’ll never get in trouble for being absolute utter dog shit human beings.
