I agree, I’m used to the opposite now but “pulling on the content” like you do with smart phones makes more sense.

Just tried it, it can go in and out without touching because I have a big mouth.
Security code / 3D secure is not mandatory. It’s in theory enough to make a purchase but will be flagged for potentially fraud very often.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Linux desktop use spikes to over 10% in North America for the first time. There is also a corresponding drop in Windows and OSX use.

Marginal value of money at 10T is almost zero.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How to overcome the temptation to social media?
1·11 days agoI quit social media, now I only have Lemmy left. The biggest reason I stuck with it is that my self esteem improved a lot and FOMO stopped being a thing for me.
I’m thinking of switching to 100% intentional consumption right now. YouTube subscribe feed only, Jellyfin and whatnot.

Games@lemmy.world•I built a free game where you try to beat a couch at timing the market. Over 80k plays later, the couch usually wins.English
1·13 days agoThat one would be almost impossible to beat unless you recognise the the boom/bust cycle. It sounds interesting

Technically SAM systems are purely for defence but to get a complete set to defend you need a lot more than just anti-air.
Defence deterrent is based a lot on potential counter attack so if you don’t have a counter attack potential it’s kinda safe to attack you. Nuclear bombs are an example of this, they are the most aggressive and destructive which makes them very effective for deterrence.
One thing Ukraine has shown is that fortifications are super important which are purely defensive. But to guard a long defensive line without a massive standing army you need a crapton of drones which can be use both offensive and defensive.
To be fair, if your video editor doesn’t support webp in 2026 it has to at least suck a little bit.
Obviously be mad at whoever responded to a request without accept webp in it with a webp or didn’t provide an alternative. Nothing wrong with supporting webp with a fallback

I started because I heard it’s good for programming which turned out to be true. Initially stayed because it was customizable but had windows for games. Now just Linux because it’s better for everything I do. I think now people switching to Linux mostly do it because Linux is just better except for niche programs.
Buy one pack of 5, if good go back and buy 3+ more packs leaving some unopened and throw out old if not find better. Look at what sock you like currently and try finding similar. I like thin/semi thin. I don’t do brands, just feel with the hands.
Pro tip: If you buy tons of the same type of socks such as 20 pairs of black you can wash and dry them and they pair easily. It’s less effort than going to buy new ones.
Major platforms already have a large portion of bot content. Online articles in Google searches are mostly bots. It’s trending upwards but there’s still a lot of human created content left. I would stay away from big tech social media to avoid bot content.

Linux@lemmy.ml•A replacement for dolphin that can look just as pretty?
2·2 months agoIt works on mine out of the box so it’s probably related to something further down the stack. I probably can’t help but what distro?
I play all my games on Steam and the console like experience sounds like it’s up my alley but I prefer having a desktop and streaming over WiFi. If I were to upgrade anything in my setup it’d be a graphics card, not an entire machine.

Some videos are still worth the watch, it’s not a bad channel but it clearly took a quality hit after Derek started being more hands off. Also you can see it on his face how he’s just there because of a contract. Good for him though.
