Passwords are stored using libsecret, you can verify that by looking at GNOME Keyring. Nothing is stored in plain text. And yes, sending initial commands in a planned feature.
Initially I started this with PyQt, but it was a nightmare trying to integrate a terminal into the UI.

When you enable the Focus Mode (fir distraction-free writing), the browser is automatically toggled off.
Carburetor is an elegant, user-friendly GUI for TOR with the following features:
- System proxy toggle - turn system-wide traffic routing on/off
- Select exit note country
- FascistFirewall mode - restrict connections to port 80 and 443
- Set custom ports for local SOCKS, HTTP and DNS
- Select TOR bridge types
- Add custom bridges
- Works everywhere -available as Flatpak for maximum compatibility, no need to mess with system files
