Yeah the eyes are off, and the armour rack is empty and the computer says error, but I do actually agree that if not obvious.

Fuck Cars@lemmy.world•All Cars Sold in the EU Now Require a Camera Aimed at Your Face. It’s Still Not Clear Where That Data GoesEnglish
5·6 days agoGlance at your phone, your kids in the back seat, or the radio for too long, and the car will flash a warning light and sound an alert.
Or drive with your hand at the top of the wheel for too long blocking the camera’s view of you.
It’s ironic that a super hero would be crushed by their armour instead of protected by it.
Don’t you think?

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•A lot of people who try to start a religion are seen as mentally ill. Like Jim Jones, David Koresh, the UFO guy, and L Ron Hubbard. Then could it be a safe bet that Jesus was mentally ill?
5·8 days agoA historical Jesus person might have never existed. But, several authors of books in the Bible did. They were probably several con men who realized that they could collaborate to coalesce their respective cults by coopting the prophecies of Jewish religion.
That’s possible, but I think it’s far more likely that Matthew, Mark, Luke and John didn’t exist than that Jesus didn’t exist.
That’s a sea lion right? It can lift itself up on its flippers

Climate@slrpnk.net•Giant trees have no trouble pumping water to top branches4·11 days agoI still don’t really understand how trees could possibly suck something up higher than air pressure can push it. Are they like using surface tension or something?
Father, Son, Holy Spirit. Each individually the only god, but distinct from each other.
F=G, S=G, Hs=G
F+S+Hs=G
∴
G=0 or G=∞ depending on what seems more reasonable to you.

…But doesn’t anymore because of institutionalised cultural superiority.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How come Mark Wahlberg got a pass for being the crap out of a Vietnamese guy. But Kevin Spacey, Bill Cosby, Weinstein, do not get a pass? Beside the sexual aspect what is the difference?

Sorry, what is it you can excuse?

World News@lemmy.world•Trump threatens to ‘blow up’ Oman amid talks over strait of HormuzEnglish
131·2 months agoIt’s an international strait, because there is a sliver of international waters/EEZ in the Persian gulf. One might question the impartiality of the threshold, but it is legally distinct from the strait of Juan de Fuca because the Salish Sea (strait of Georgia) is wholly territorial waters.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_strait
Canada should be watching closely what happens in Hormuz because of its implications for the North West Passage.
I like their idea of CPU + MCU

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are your thoughts on people who are against pacifism?
3·2 months agoPacifism vs passive-ism?
It definitely has the bias of someone that has been impacted by racialization.
When IS it acceptable to talk about racism in Canada? I don’t agree with everything he says in the video, and there are some places where he ought to add some more context. But overall it seems like a pretty thorough and generally fair assessment.
IMO If you think racism isn’t a problem in Canada, you’re wrong. If you think it’ll go away by itself if we ignore it, you’re wrong. It’s too easy for people to pretend that Canada doesn’t have a significant problem with racism, but we punch way above our weight class in that category. Lauren Southern, Gavin McInnes, Stefan Molyneux, are some examples that come to mind.

Canada@lemmy.ca•Canada and Europe should get ‘creative’ in forging closer ties, EU ambassador says
4·2 months agoThis sounds a lot like what I said would be interesting a few weeks ago. EU membership doesn’t make sense for Canada, we’re too big, too different, and too far. But we do have similar values, so some sort of half in half out scenario could be attractive.

I think it is idk.
