Seafood Sub from Subway. It was my childhood. WhichWich comes close but it’s not the same.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Lemmings who order cheese pizzas, have you always just ordered cheese pizzas or is that something that happened with age?
2·2 months agoI’ll branch out every now and then, especially if I’m sharing the pie, but I’ve always preferred a cheese pizza.
On a side note, as a small kid, Home Alone normalized and made me not feel ashamed for being so “basic” in my plain-cheese tastes.
Also, vanilla icecream is the best.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What Are Your Hobbies? Trying to Find Something New
2·3 months agoExactly!
There is also the benefit of being able to move on from a hobby that doesn’t click, without having to feel any amount of guilt.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What Are Your Hobbies? Trying to Find Something New
3·3 months agoGardening (veges!), musical instruments (currently guitar), vidja games, cooking, bread baking, self-hosting, paddle boarding, wood working, and a life-long hobby of trying new hobbies.
There are thousands of hobbies out there. You never know which ones will click with you. Try as many of them as you can! If something looks interesting, go for it! Look for the least expensive entry point. If it requires equipment, rent, borrow, or go super cheap. Unless its safety equipment… Then don’t go cheap.
A fine example is guitar: don’t spend more than $100 on a used acoustic. If you stick with guitar long enough, you’ll eventually be able to make that shitty guitar sing while also understanding exactly how it’s holding you back so you’ll know what to look for when upgrading to something intermediate.
Also, “earning the right” to get better equipment is a badass feeling.
Apply that to any hobby that requires investment. If you invest a small amount of money and realize the hobby is not right for you, you didn’t lose much but gained a lot of insight about yourself.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•They have already decided to promote an existing employee. But play the "search" game and screw you
13·3 months agoFor those wondering, this literally happens in the corporate world where for whatever reason, there are either rules or laws that require other candidates be vetted even when you’re promoting from within. I’ve seen it first hand more than once.

Linux@lemmy.ml•A replacement for dolphin that can look just as pretty?
7·4 months agoI have the same issue on all four machines that use Dolphin. I’ve accepted having to hit F5 to refresh and I’m not looking to switch file managers, but if there is a fix I’d love to implement it!

Technology@lemmy.world•It's hard to justify buying a Framework 12English
7·5 months agoI’ve had mine for about 6 months and absolutely love it. Paid a little extra, sure, but it fit with my values (better than most) and exact hardware specifications for its use-case.
Best of luck with your books, author!
Thank you for posting these.
I’ve tried many distros over a 20 year period. I’m happy with CachyOS.

6·7 months agoWith my own money? Chrono Trigger, shortly after it was released in the US. Took a while to save up my meager allowance.
I was a tween, and it was very worth it.
I learned so much by just finding tutorial videos that walked me through general or specific tasks I was trying to accomplish.
I’m getting used to Inkscape, but as much as I do not like Adobe as a company, I do miss Illustrator. My workflow speed has taken a bit of a hit, but overall, with all other things Linux vs Windows considered, I have no regrets on switching to Linux completely.
CachyOS suggests a reboot but also doesn’t demand.
