It has a mobile SOC which thermally throttles pretty aggressively, memory capped at 8gb, and a pair of confusing USB-C ports one of which is limited to USB 2.0 speeds.

That headline is just irrisponsible. The evidence the NYT dug up was damming enough there’s no need to misrepresent it. The video shows a missile hitting the naval base. Given that the school next to it was probably also hit by the US. The Times very helpfully highlights both the naval base and the school in the footage. Not writing a factually incorrect headline for the clicks is not hard here.

It was next to a naval base and the Trump administration can’t be arsed to check what they are bombing
Gift article links are the exception. Unfortunately they tend to come with a utm_source that needs removing.

I’m my experience you still see crackheads with the cameras.

Since people aren’t reading the article and the headline is misleading. The law requires:
It was explicitly written by the authors not to mandate ID or facial recognition checks. You can lie about your date of birth. This basically creates a standard set of parental controls for parents configuring kids devices.
I think that this might actually help with the whole discord facial recognition issue in places other than the UK by allowing them to offload the issue to parents setting up devices rather than collecting kids biometrics.

The headline is misleading. They are only required to ask how old you are and are not required to verify you aren’t lying

Guys in the Philippines aren’t driving those cars live. Ping between SF and Manila is ~200ms or about a 5th of a second which on top of human reaction time would not be adequate. This is about getting cars unstuck when they get stuck between an obstruction and violating traffic law.

One of the many problems with collecting human intelligence is that sources will tell you just about anything true or not. Some of the stories in the Epstein files match this problem. This feels like one of them. Some critical reading is required.

Sadly a lot of this is chiplet interposer mounted HBM and not UDIMMs. The HBM cannot be removed from the products it’s installed from so unless you want an H100 it won’t be of much use. The remainder is mainly server RDIMMs and LRDIMMs. UDIMMs for desktops are in short supply because they cut manufacturing to make other things.

Alabama not the US house. That headline needs a lot of context

While this is believable the last time this “news” source was posted it was insinuating that Iranian protestors were actually being shot by Israel. So I would generally consider this a propaganda outlet

Ehh. I’m not seeing evidence that was in any way pointed at people. In the aftermath of the Ukrainian strikes on Russia’s strategic bombers it became quite apparent that leaving your air force out unprotected in your own country is a shortcut to losing a lot of it at once. The US Air Force has the same problem the Russian VKS had: lots of expensive planes out in the open scattered over a massive country that anyone can get drones or explosives into. This was near an airbase. While the drone identification bit needs work I don’t find the presence unreasonable

John Oliver will probably abuse it in some way. Sadly he doesn’t start until the 15th and something new and horrible will have replaced this.

It was common for like five years on external hard drives.

The average person I know thinks of USB-B as “that squarish one.” The existence of the differently shaped USB-B 3.0 doesn’t help with this. Micro USB 3.0 also really throws people for a loop.

5 seconds of reading and critical thinking would dismiss what you linked. The posted article is for linking bullets to found guns. They didn’t seem to find the guns. Just the bullets.
Also like much of forensics, forensic tool mark and bullet mark analysis is crock full of shit. Like much forensics, attempts to ground it in robust reproducable controlled science and statistical work has fared poorly. I would not rely on it for this or really anything.

Ah the wonders of lemmy. A group of people who wonder how Trump won and then insist any replacement must be perfect.
Lol tankies out in force downvoting anyone pointing out how Iran has been at war with Ukraine since 2022.
Its hard to start a war you already started. The US may have started a war with Iran. Ukraine though has been at war with Iran since the Iranians started armed hostilities in 2022. And yes Iran had troops in Ukraine since at least 2022.
