Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•I spent the night for a stupid reason at a police station and people know it without knowing the reason behind it, what would be the most honorable way to get around this unfortunate episode?
1·2 days agoNot disputing, but would you be willing to elaborate?
As workaround there is an alternative front-end that allows for this.

6·4 days agoPhones do post processing in order to make up for physical constraints of their cameras. I find Samsung’s blurs fur a bit and gives it that distinct look.
Look into how YT started uploading shorts in low definition and upscaled them with AI, giving legitimate videos that look.

Canada@lemmy.ca•Conservative MP Jivani says Trump gave him a message for Canadians during Washington trip
1·5 days agowhen you know that trump is pretty much universally hated by Canadians
I would love to believe this but maybe it’s not true or at least recently wasn’t.
But this Canadian MP, you know the room, yet you pass that “message” through?
If they knew the room they wouldn’t be conservative.

Jerboa@lemmy.ml•Jerboa 0.0.84 seems to blindly try to force-open this webpage as a PDF document, when it needs to actually open it up as a webpage for the age verification HTML script.
1·6 days agoRight, but after you click, something opens, after that when you hit the recent apps button what app icon is shown?

5·6 days agoI realise this isn’t targeted at me.
but for anyone reading
There is desperate need accross the nation for professionals at all levels of care. The exception to my above comment is if you’re in an in-demand field. It will be much easier. The scope of that may have narrowed but nurses, care workers, etc. are in high demand everywhere here and will fast-track you for sure.
Edit: and our birthrate is dangerously low. We need immigrants to continue to exist as a nation.

2·6 days agoWhat about other PDF links? Where does this appear to open in for example? Within Jerboa? Fennec? Some other pdf viewer interface?
Another approach, have you tried any other Lemmy apps? Voyager has a progressive web app if you don’t want to install something. Open that in Fennec. Does the original age verification link work there? What about my wonderland one above?
Try opening the links through voyager in your stock browser on both devices
This might seem trivial or a lot of work and that’s fine. But it you still wanna figure this out it will help me, and I don’t think anyone else is trying to figure this out right now.
Edit: I see you have already done some further digging that I missed. I am still curious what is going on with your device however. I didn’t mean to discredit your work @Binette@lemmy.ml

10·6 days agoOur country isn’t easy to get in to but you are definitely welcome! There’s no place free of bigots but at least in the cities there are enough of us to protect you.
Edit: not easy as an immigrant I mean. Getting permanent residence (PR), etc. Tourists from most countries should have little trouble travelling (as long as you don’t have a layover in the USA).
And depending on the area many small towns are probably fine also.
