How is this a meme? This is just American politics

I don’t know any of these numbers what

Don’t quote me on this since I haven’t done it, but IIRC that’s something that you can only do during a fresh install

Most of the times I’ve seen this happen it’s less a statement of pride but rather bonding over shared misery.

Like, “I too have experienced a sleep deficit due to circumstances inflicted on me by this rotten capitalist hell-scape that is our current reality🫂”

That was a fun user profile to scroll through and makes me want to go back to practising knife sharpening with a grindstone again instead of just using cheap easy knife sharpeners

Give it 5 minutes and they’ll even announce a live action remake of the whole series

I’m being told to use AI more and more too and I’ve managed to get by without selling my soul to it but idk how long I’ll be until I get let go just because I’m not dumping hundreds of thousands of slop code daily. I’ve been hearing more and more coworkers talk about how they haven’t written any code in weeks and are now just checking up on their agents occasionally and it’s filling me with actual existential dread and depression. I’m positive it’ll all come crashing down but if it’s not soon then maybe I’ll drop the career I’ve wanted nearly my whole life and take up farming or something because watching vibe coding infect the whole software field makes me want to shoot myself

I genuinely think I’d have preferred no-code shit to have taken over instead of this because at least that takes some actual thought and effort to use

Americans once again being the biggest threat to a habitable earth

So if a U.S. Navy vessel flies the old pirate flag when returning to port (and some do), it’s all in good fun. No one thinks the submarine USS Jimmy Carter, which was spotted flying the pirate banner back in 2017, is actually out there terrorizing sea lanes and stealing doubloons.

The US? No I think most people would absolutely assume they’re out there terrorising people

Can confirm it’s a great stack! We run it at my work and its quite nice to work with. I’ve been thinking of replacing Prometheus in my homelab with Alloy

Jesus Christ, I read the wikipedia page and this meme is fucking awful. What a fucked up thing to joke about

I have no idea who the person on the left is

I use Prometheus with various exporters pushed to Grafana which I have displayed on a small screen running on a ROCK Pi in my office

Doesn’t seem to be helping Americans so I’ll take my chances and not have children be killed in school shootings every day

It’s an Apple app so be thankful it’s not $29.99. I’m not endorsing the price and haven’t even had an iPhone in years but it did work well, even on such a locked down platform

You don’t like handwritten monospace??

Vinegar works really well on iOS: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/vinegar-tube-cleaner/id1591303229

They’re selling for upwards of $2000 CAD already on eBay so negative minutes lol

re: the StatsCan link, volunteering and charitable giving requires time and money which are in short supply* these days (especially here in Canada) :(

*in short supply for us dirty non-billionaires I mean

Not American but my cousin did the teaching English thing! It was a while back and I’m struggling to remember where she went exactly but I think it was Korea or China, and it seemed like a great gig. I don’t think I could do it myself but if you’re an outgoing, adventurous person then it’s highly worth it imo
